El Chunche Handicraft shop
In Alegria there are a lot of Handicraft stores, but the most famous one is called “EL CHUNCHE” which is located in front of the Central park. In that place you will find any type of Salvadorian handicrafts, some of them are: bracelets, necklaces, traditional cloth, dolls, paintings, etc. Some furniture are made of wood.
View Point Las Cien Gradas
Another tourist place of Alegria is “Las Cien gradas”. It was inaugurated on December 7, 2014 by municipal authorities of the town. This place has spectacular view from the heghts of the town. From “One hundred steps Viewpoint” you can see an impressive panorama that extends beyond the reservoir of the Lempa River, and it has a pleasant climate.
PLACES TO VISIT
The Central Park
The central park of the town is a very beautiful place, where people enjoy the environment with their families and friend. On Sundays night people from different places visit the central park of Alegria. It is surrounded by a lot of Salvadorian food stalls and handicraft stores. It has a natural environment with flowers and plants everywhere, also there are monuments of important people like the Salvadorian writer Alberto Masferrer. Furthermore, On Sundays evenings there are some musical groups that play for people who want to dance or enjoy any kind of songs.
Parish Church
It is located near the central park of Alegria. This Catholic temple was constructed in 1879. It is called “The parish church of Tecapa”. The body of the educator José Miguel Alegría was brushed under the church
